Benjamin Joseph Levin (born in march 8th de 1988), known professionally as Benny Blanco's (stylized as benny blanco), it's a music producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist american de Reston, Virginia.[1] In 2013, he received the Hal David Starlight Award Songwriters Hall of Fame,[2] in addition to receiving five times the BMI Award composer of the Year[3] in 2017, he was named Producer of the Year by IHeartRadio Music Awards.[4] Blanco is responsible for more than 100 million album sales worldwide,[3] he is also the founder of two record labels in collaboration with Interscope Records, mad Love Records and Friends Keep Secrets.[5]
In July 2018, Blanco released, under his own name, the song "Eastside", in partnership with Halsey and Khalid,[6] that reached the first place of the parade singles british.[7]
Biography
Born in the city of Reston na Virginia us United States, Blanco was initially interested in rap before you start producing. He began producing around age 15, being instructed at the time by Jonathan Shecter, co-founder of the magazine The Source, who used his first production in a pornographic series.[1] Blanco was also an apprentice to DJ and producer Disco D, after making several trips to Manhattan to negotiate with record executives. In 2007, he worked with rapper Spank Rock, producing his extended play "Bangers & Cash", which led him to meet the music producer Dr Luke, from then on, he would be her mentor.[8]
Music production career
Blanco spent many years working with Dr Luke, which led him to co-produce and co-compose hit songs like "Circus", de Britney Spears, "Tok Tik", de Kesha and "Dynamite", de Taio Cruz.[9]
In 2011, Blanco began moving away from Luke's influence, engaging with other producers such as Max Martin's, Shellback and Stargate.[9] At the time, he co-wrote and co-produced the song "Moves Like Jagger", from the band Maroon 5 in collaboration with Christina Aguilera's, having subsequently participated in the production of the album "Overexposed", from the same band.[10]
In 2012, Blanco worked on the song "Diamonds" of Rihanna, along with Sia and the duo Stargate.[9] The song reached the first position of the Billboard Hot 100 two United States, becoming the twelfth work of the singer to achieve such a feat,[11] and the fourteenth of Blanco. In the same year, he worked on songs from the album Femme Fatale's, de Britney Spears.
On June 13, 2013, Blanco received the Hal David Starlight Award Songwriters Hall of Fame, an honor bestowed on new artists who have already impressed the music industry.On the occasion, Blanco joked in his speech: "they picked the wrong person, I'm in a room with people I should probably be serving food to"[12]
Between 2014 and 2015, he produced songs for several artists, including Maroon 5, Iggy Azalea's, Ariana Grande's, Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Justin Bieber's and Selena Gomez's. His work with Gomez, "Same Old Love", it reached the fifth position of the Billboard Hot 100.[13]
Between 2016 and 2017, she was involved in projects by artists such as The Weeknd, Cat Cashmere, Major Lazer, ed Sheeran, Julia Michaels and Halsey, having been nominated for Grammy de Song of the Year for his work with Michaels. The albums "Starboy", from The Weeknd and "÷", from Sheeran, in which Blanco was involved, received respectively the prizes of Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best Pop Vocal Album no 2018 Grammy Awards. The song "Cold Water's", from the group Major Lazer in partnership with Justin Bieber's and MO, in which Blanco is credited as producer, reached the second position of the Billboard Hot 100.[14]
In 2018, Blanco launched its first single, "Eastside", in partnership with Halsey and Khalid,[6] which reached the first position of the stop singles british.[7] He has also been involved in the projects of Kanye West's, KIDS SEE GHOSTS, Nas and Lil Dicky, among others. Blanco said he intends to release more music under his own name in 2018.[15]
